I actually have little doubt that this will be the last console set, it's already been stated that our current movie CG has already reached it's peak, with the exception of smaller companies who need to catch up. However, you guys should be glad if this IS that last generation. Shit will start to get good.

Think on it, what happens if every company has the same graphics, the same physics engines, ect. All of them top-of-the-line. What's left to draw the consumer in? Innovation, that's what. If you set all the companies on equal footing, the only thing they can change is innovation. No longer will we have shitty games with epic graphics that sell like wildfire, then burn out because they only have fifteen-minutes of actual play time.

Not only that, but the amount of games will be decreased, because they have to actually think about what they put out.

But, just now, I remembered the Project Natal, and if Macroshit releases it, and it's a success then the other companies will probably release similar items. IN the end, it's wait-and-see.

CG Technology is constantly being heralded as "As good as it's going to get", it always ends up being absolutely wrong.

With the advancement of technology this age of consoles WILL die eventually. However this will be in the far future (my opinion entirely) I foresee PC's getting fairly advanced beyond what is out now. I doubt there will be a mass exodus of people moving from console to PC but I can dream.

I wish it would be the last console actually. That way, I woulnd't need to spend my stipend on new consoles, and I won't always feel like the only one out becuase I can't afford the newest console out there. And games need a new improvement ASAP.
Possibly, the next console out there will include some new technology that will revolutionise the gaming industry ( although possibly not for the better) like they already trying to do, with motion sensing (Wii) and touchscreens (DS)
lol @ shiny shit.

Well If it where the last console it would be when Nintendo, Sony, and Microsoft actually make the mistake in integrating an AI (artificial intelligence) into one of their next Gen consoles causing the destruction of the human race thus plummeting us back to the stone age with no technology because the Super Wii, PS4, or the Xbot could walk and talk and some how obtain nuclear war heads, lol.

He isnt suggesting an end to video gaming systems. But simply the fact that there will be a standard that they will have to adhere to because of the cost of creating games for multiple consoles.
