Hmm, I found something hat could help but the guy was using Windows 2000 Pro, so I have no idea if this would work for you.

To save time, just boot your OS in safemode and see if your IE and/or FF works. If they do, download a fresh copy of FF and reinstall.

If you still can't open FF, then you either have a problem with your registry keys or a malware infection. The program "Hijackthis" might help you but seeing as you can't download it directly, try going to a net cafe or something and download it to your flash drive. Run Hijackthis and fix (I prefer the term kill) the system processes that look suspicious.

And If that doesn't work check to see if it could be your anti virus program or fire wall settings.

They're all checked except for the AEGIS Protocol which isn't listed. I've already tried turning off my anti virus and firewall and it didn't change anything.

I tried every suggestion on the site and it didn't help. I have confirmed that both Firefox and Internet Explorer work fine in Windows Safe Mode,so I reinstalled a clean version of Firefox and it still won't start outside of Windows Safe Mode. I've done extensive cleaning of the registry with System Mechanic both after the uninstall of Firefox and and after the installation of the clean version. I also did cleaning before the uninstall,so I don't think it's a registry issue. I downloaded HijackThis but I really don't have a clue as to where I should start. I deleted a few BHOs,but there's really not enough evidence here to give me an idea about what needs to go.

If someone wants to help with that, the text log is thus:

I use Avast and ThreatFire for security, and the iolo entries are from System Mechanic. The Verizon entries should be from my ISP.

I'd like to hear back on this before I go to lengths involving the Windows installation CD.

The installation will just repair the windows and check for hard drive errors, I just ran it a few days ago and fixed some red cross errors that popped up before I logged on my account. Your data will be safe.

How would I find the repair function? I browsed the CD but couldn't find a repair function listed.

-Boot from the CD.
-Wait until the files load.
-Select proceed with installation.
-Select a partition to repair. It says something like (To repair the partition press R)
-Wait till it's done and restart when prompted.

I got stuck,I dunno what type after the password prompt. The line just displays C:Windows after I enter the admin password and the list of availible commands lacks an obvious repair entry.

You didn't have to do that, you selected Repair using the Command Console, that's not the one I'm talking about.
On the screen where you have the option repair with the command console, select to continue with the installation instead (You only have those two options I think), it will take you to another blue screen showing your current partitions, then press R on the partition you want to repair.

*edit*
I think this is the screen you should get.

One Google session later,I got my head wrapped around the installation repair and Firefox is all hunky-dory. You straight up saved my ass bro. DAEMON Tools is giving me an error about needing windows 2000 and up,and I got an error trying to open System Mechanic to do maintenance, but my internets are back in functioning order at least. If only I'd done that before clearing Firefox and losing all of my stuff...

Default "Im a Mac " "Im a PCand I broke "

Use Kalyway, it configures itself, works with other Macs if you have a network and is super simple to install. If you cant get it youd have to be a lazyasada.

This issue was solved nearly three months ago, there's no call for further posts on the subject. Even if I were still in need,I wouldn't be installing Mac software on my PC.
