No, you can adjust the time by choosing your time zone, but it is still quite off.

Sorry for Double Post, but in order to drastically reduce the amount of spam bots, can we make it so that an admin/moderator has to approve a membership before they can post?

I think it would be too long to check each new user one by one to validate, but I've reactivated the "E-mail verification" option for new registrations, which should slow down bots.

Just a little addon to what dd2 said.

Im pretty sure i said something like this in the past but what about requiring new members to post a intro topic in a intro forum before they are allowed to post on the forums? It would be real simple because we could use that intro forum as a form of validation. (Because we can limit access for new members to that forum only and then the mods/admins can switch the people that post in that forum to the main user group and allow them access to the rest of the forums.)

But then again a couple more mods would be a good idea. And i also think we should demote in inactive mods and replace them with more active people. I mean whats the use in having mods if they never appear?

Andhre im my 3rd (And hopefully final) edit.

I've said this before and i'll say it again... How about we start deleting those members who havent posted in over a year and while were at it how about we delete those perm banned members? I've heard the arguement (And me and Neamento had a little arguement about this once) that this will lower the number of members we have. While this is true it will also increse the percentage of active members we have.

Lets look at the math.

We have a total of 21995 members with 317 active members. This equates to .1441% of the members being active (And the active members number takes into account the recentently regestered members so this number in truth is a lot lower.)

Now lets say that by following my suguestion we delete... 10k accounts. After running the math on with this number the result will equate to .2642 of the forum being active.

Going even further lets say that after taking a second look we delete a additional 5k accounts. This result equates to .4532% ofthe forum being active.

The crux of this is no forum can survive with a activity rate this low. Unless something drastic happens this forum will be dead. As much as i hate dgemu i have to say that they have a good downloading system that actully creates forum activity. Sadly they don't seperate inactive members from active members so i will have to usea diffrent method for showing their activity. Lets try the amount of posts compared to the number of members. Taking in account all the members and posts we have it equates to about 1.5 posts per member. Their number is close to 1.71 posts per member. Although this doesn't appear to be much of a diffrence it still can't change the fact that a couple sections of their forum has more posts then our entire forum combined.

The surveys were introduced by a new webmaster who doesn't give a shit about the site. Our hands are tied. Even we go elsewhere for ROMs.

To deplete the amount of bots in use, can we install an Uber Captca system on the registration page?

All I have to say is that I agree with Mr. X. I think we should go ahead and remove the banned members and the extremely inactive members. I'm sure someone can figure out a way to use a higher member/activity ratio to the sites advantage. Maybe some sort of marketing or something like that...

Having a place in the forums where you have to post before you can post anywhere else isn't to bad of an idea either, but wouldn't that just turn that section of the forum into a list of ads from the bots.
